The market for professional gamers in Japan is forecast to continue to expand, led by a focus on e-sports. Nora-Rengo has a team of around sixty professional gamers and a streaming department, while Linked Brain runs EncreMatch, a human resources service specializing in the gaming industry through game contracting and developing. This collaboration between them is planned to provide even stronger services, such as career support and second career support for professional gamers, an occupation that will become more common, as well as hardware for B2B, development and review of game titles, marketing support, and more.

■Nora-Rengo Professional Gaming Team

This professional gaming team, formed in 2016, is officially recognized as a professional gaming team by JeSU, the Japan e-Sports Union (https://jesu.or.jp/).
It has about sixty members, who play games in a range of genres, including Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch, PUBG, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and FIFA.
In their very first year of existence, they took part in the E-Sports Festival 2016 Hong Kong as the Japanese team and became Asian Champions in the Rainbow Six Siege championship.
Since then, they have taken part in world championships in a number of different categories. They also have a streaming department, which focuses on live play videos. Nora-Rengo members have a combined total of 930,000 YouTube subscribers and 610,000 Twitter followers, both figures making them one of the most important professional gaming groups in Japan.

■Services provided through this partnership

– Career support for professional gamers.
– Second career support for people moving from being programmers to game creators.
– Review and reports on products and games.
– Support for streaming by programmers and marketing using social media.

■We want to eliminate worries about the future for people who aspire to become professional gamers

The Japanese e-sports market is considered to lag behind the rest of the world, and there are a large number of issues, starting with the environment for players. Linked Brain hopes to make use of our expertise in both game development/operation and the human resources business to support professional gamers’ careers and expand the venues where they can flourish.
This business partnership will be based around the services offered by both parties. We will both strengthen the provision of services using professional gamers aimed at game development companies and provide employment support as a career or second career for professional gamers themselves through Linked Brain’s human resources framework.

Linked Brain will continue to contribute to the development of e-sports and the gaming industry in Japan.
