LinkedBrain hosted e-Sports event “e-Sports meetup in FUKUOKA Vol.1”

Linked Brain Inc. (Representative Directors: Koichi Shimizu, Shingo Iwamoto. Address: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Hereafter, “Linked Brain”) will hold the “e-Sports meetup in FUKUOKA Vol.1” e-sports event on Saturday, February 2.

At e-Sports meetup in FUKUOKA, we will invite industry leaders for a panel discussion with the backing of Fukuoka City. This will be a time when the entire Fukuoka City is buzzing with e-sports due to the upcoming EVO Championship Series Japan 2019 (https://www.evojapan.net/2019/).

With the rise of awareness and popularity of e-sports, the discussions at this event will focus on e-sports as a business. The session is also scheduled to include discussions about current initiatives and future prospects for e-sports in Japan from the point of view of players of e-sports.

We invite anyone interested in e-sports to attend.

Brief Bio
Graduated from the Games & Graphic Design Course, Amusement Media Academy
Responsible for designing GUILTY GEAR X and later at PicPac-Airreal.
After joining Arc System Works, launched the new BLAZBLUE series,
and has been involved in all products in this series as director and producer since.
Also responsible for scenario and character illustration for BLAZBLUE.
His trademark is his black sunglasses, and his hobby is cars.

– Akatsuki Fukuoka Inc.
Akihito Tsubooka, Chief Executive Officer
Brief Bio
Graduated from the Faculty of Science & Engineering at Doshisha University,
then joined a major IT corporation.
Joined Akatsuki in February 2014.
After serving as development and operations producer/director of multiple titles,
he was appointed Representative Director & CEO of the new Akatsuki Fukuoka when it was founded.
He works in close contact with the Tokyo team, especially for Akatsuki’s customer experiences and verification.

Brief Bio
Representative of the Nora-Rengo professional gaming team that was started in 2016.
In summer 2016, he became Asian Champion at the E-Sports Festival Hong Kong 2016.
In addition, he has won victories at numerous official and unofficial meets, such as those held by JCG.

– Fukuoka e-sports Association
Chairperson, Kenichi Nakashima
Brief Bio
Born in Kumamoto in 1971.
After working at a private-sector IT company, he began working for Fukuoka Prefecture,
involved in IT and content industry promotion.
After relocating to Fukuoka City in 2013,
he worked to support creative and tie-up businesses as Subsection Chief for Games and Videos and as Subsection Chief for Supporting Creative Industries.
Later, he worked as coordinator for a research project based on urban policies at the Fukuoka Asian Urban Research Center.
Serving as Chairperson of the Fukuoka e-sports Association, he carries out research and popularization activities related to e-sports.

Representative Director, Koichi Shimizu
Brief Bio
After graduation, he worked for a major SE company as a sales engineer.
In 2006, he transferred to a games company within the group, and became properly involved with the gaming industry.
In 2012, he started working at Linked Brain, where he worked on business strategy proposals as CSO (Chief Strategic Officer) while being involved with starting up new businesses.
In October 2018 he was appointed as a representative director.
He also serves as an ambassador concierge for Startup Cafe, a place in Fukuoka where people who want to start up a business, and people who want to support start-ups, can freely meet and mingle.
